The FIFA world cup is very much dear to me. Coming from a non-football-playing country, this tournament is a stranger to me until my Saudi days. My stint in the Arab world introduced me to football and from that time on, I have learned to love the game specially the world cup series.
As expected, this event is not as popular as the NBA in our country. And I had a hard time channel-surfing to get a front-seat live coverage of every game. Fortunately, I was able to find one network — Solar Sports Plus. My only dilemma now is the time difference between Manila and Germany. Anyway, I also get my updates through the official website — http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/
Of course, it is too early to predict who will make it to the 2006 FIFA world cup finals. Aside from the ever popular Brazil, I am hoping that South Korea would be able to finish with flying colors. I am not a Koreanovela fanatic, but I want a team from Asia to dominate the field this time.
