After hours of heavy reading, I spent a break by watching a DVD movie; one of my favorites. The title is Sideways. One of its casts is the gorgeous and hot-chick, Sandra Oh of the Grey’s Anatomy series.
The movie is about two male friends who went on a weeklong road trip to a “wine country” in northern California. The main character is Miles, a failed writer who teaches junior high English class. His friend is Jack, a former actor who is about to get married in a week time. Their main quest is to check on the best wines that Jack will be serving for his wedding. But, the journey became an opportunity to explore the nature of their failures and questions on their relationships. Jack, being the natural philanderer had an affair with a wine pourer and a one-night-stand with a married chubby food server. This had put him on the verge of almost thinking to call off his wedding. Miles on the other hand, has recently divorced and thinks whether or not he made the right choice. He got pissed off knowing that his ex-wife has remarried.
This film shows a perfect example of long-time friendship, deceptions, release of sexual tensions, wine tasting, regrets, and finding one’s true meaning in life. One of the reviews is true saying that at the end of the movie, I feel like seeing it again.
