over spending

Sunday, March 9, 2008

I had been over spending lately.  I’m writing this just to remind myself.

An Altec Lansing headphone with microphone.  A three for one hundred dirhams Giordano shirts.  A SimpleTech 120 GB external hard disk.  And a PlayStation Portable (PSP) console with one free game.

Now I want to justify the reasons of buying those stuff.

The headphone is for voice chat in YM.  This is equivalent to savings on phone bills.  The shirts are mine but opted to save one piece for my sister.  The external hard disk is for my picture and video files.  The PSP is for Trek which I need to familiarise with before turning over to him.

This is not yet over.   Spending may continue again next month perhaps.

importance of "no"

Thursday, March 6, 2008

The most important words in any language are small words.  "Yes," for example.  Love.  God.  These are words that are easy to utter, and they fill in empty spaces in our world.

However, there is one word – also a small one – that we find difficult to say: “No”.

And we see ourselves as generous, understanding, and polite.  Because "no" is considered to be cursed, egoistic, not at all spiritual.

We have to be careful here.  There are moments when we say "yes" to others and in fact are saying "no" to ourselves.
